Natalie Ford is heralded as a “terrific singer and a gutsy young actress” by Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune. As a Chicago-based singer and actress, she has performed many leading roles on Chicago’s theater stages, including Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady and Anne Egerman from A Little Night Music. Here in the Bay Area, Ford has sung with the Bay Area Summer Opera Theatre Institute (BASOTI). A native of San Mateo, CA and graduate of Notre Dame High School in Belmont, Ford holds a Master of Music in Voice from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Valparaiso University.
“I am thrilled to be singing with the Peninsula Symphony alongside my mom in the cello section,” exclaims Ford.
Kiwoon Joshua Baeg, 15, is a sophomore at Monta Vista High School. He began his cello studies at the age of seven when he heard a cello in a recital and wanted to make that sound himself. At the age of 9, he moved to Korea and was a prep student at the Korean National University of Arts. Last summer, he moved back to America where he won 1st place in the VOCE state finals. He is a scholarship student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is studying with Jonathan Koh.
The Peninsula Symphony, a 90-member community orchestra led by Music Director and Conductor Mitchell Sardou Klein, celebrates its 60th anniversary of providing unique and first-class music to the Bay Area community. In addition, as part of its “Bridges to Music” outreach programs, the Symphony shares its passion for music by offering programs in schools, providing free or discounted tickets to students and their families, hosting two competitions for students, and presenting a free family concert and outdoor summer concert. This season the Orchestra performs concerts in venues from Cupertino to San Mateo. For tickets or more information visit www.peninsulasymphony.org or call (650) 941-5291.
