Meining Wu, 16, is a Junior and Conservatory Honors Fellow at Valley Christian High School studying piano under Hans Boepple. A two time recipient of the US Chopin Foundation Young Pianists Scholarship, she was recently inducted into the prestigious MTAC Young Artist Guild of 2026, the highest honor awarded to high school musicians in California. Having debuted as a soloist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at the age of 13, she has also performed with the Central Texas Philharmonic and the Golden State Youth Orchestra. She was selected to the live rounds of the 2026 Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition and as a semi-finalist for the 2026 Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition.

Meining has captured top prizes at numerous prestigious events, including the recent First Prize and the Best Sonata Award at the 2026 Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition Senior Division, Winner of both the 2026 MTAC Piano Concerto Competition (Regional) and the 2026 TSIPF Concerto Competition, Gold Prize at the 2025 San Francisco International Piano Competition, First Place at the Lancaster International and the Henry and Carol Zeiter Competitions, and the 2025 Laureate Award at the Ross McKee Piano Competition, alongside major honors from CAPMT, the Bay Philharmonic, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Her rigorous training includes selections for elite music festivals such as Aspen, Tanglewood (BUTI), PianoTexas, Juilliard Summer Piano, TSIPF, SEPF, and Vivace, as well as masterclasses with world class pianists like Dang Thai Son and Jean Efflam Bavouzet.

Beyond the keyboard, Meining is an award winning visual artist recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and the United Nations Peace Pals. A dedicated community servant, she is the founder of Equal Keys for All (EKFA), an community initiative providing accessible piano and music theory instructions to local youth with special needs. Her extensive outreach through both art and music has earned her the President’s Volunteer Service Gold and Bronze Awards.
