Dvorak Slavonic Dance - Virtual Compilation Project (May 2020)
Why?
Our audience members love to hear us play, even if we don’t have concerts. You can contribute to audience retention by participating.
How?
To participate you need:
A device (phone or computer) to play prepared audio and/or video template
Earphones (wireless better, wires might be “in the way” of your playing)
A second device (phone or computer) to record video of you playing while listening via 1 and 2
Here is what you do:
Download your part here. It might require some practicing!
Download video of Maestro Klein conducting here. Download it onto device #1 above.
Using devices #1 and #2 (earphones), watch Mitch conduct and listen. You will see him conducting, hear him counting and hear violin/viola. (Note: we need many more violins and violas playing!)
While watching/listening as described, use device #3 to video/audio record yourself playing first 32 bars (with repeats).
Record yourself as many times as you like and send Danny Cher (djcher@gmail.com) your best one. Use whatever file-sharing technology you like (DropBox, Google Drive, etc.). Send-Anywhere is convenient as you can send directly from your mobile phone.
Danny will burn the midnight oil to assemble a video.
Keep in mind that this piece is all about rubato, so watch/listen. It might take a few tries to get the feel of it.
